Information for new home buying

New home buying tips

The very first thing to look out for, when buying a brand new home is the NHBC logo. National House Builders Council

The NHBC, National House-Building Council, will give a 10 year warranty on your property should your builder go bust.

They will also intervene when your builder does not respond to your requests to deal with snags.

Many people believe the NHBC to be a waste of time, but, what they do not realise is that, when a builder fails to respond to a snagging request, and the NHBC becomes involved, that builder gets down marked for each stage of the operation where they fail to co-operate.

If your new house builder continues to ignore your requests, they can be blacklisted from the NHBC, which they don't want, so use this knowledge to your advantage.
